WELCOME. 03:16
Welcome, please. lay down your things rest your wings, come, sit with me here. beneath this tree and tell me of your travels. let the world unravel this is your place to be. I said Welcome, please lay down your things, rest your wings, come, sit with me here. beneath this tree and tell me of your travels. let the world unravel this is your place to be. Dreams can be expensive no matter how extensive the universe never head of me before this now I'm all in This is not a task, this is not a hobby steady slayin with the brass and I’m hardly 20 I’m not sorry for my past that's what got me ready for the here. Got a couple things that I’m tryna make clear Got a couple reasons I ain't ever coming near the demons that weaken the youth, I speak for the truth comfort is cute but have you grown from dispute? you ever know a life of exclusion? losing the rights you were never used to using losing your people to addiction and using that friction's confusing the systems abusing this is hardly amusing. but. music comin through, now I’m hummin the blues life too short for you to not getta choose I might go to court for displaying my my only way to spread the news is to say the truths that come to me come for me color me triumphantly I’m functionally inclined to do what I was designed conjunctionally in line with my ancestry behind lost in modern time that's the way to sublime opportunity cost compare the dime to the time. this is a life, not a line. I got some strife with the grind that quicker leads to decline. Dreams can be expensive no matter how extensive the universe never head of me before this now I'm all in Interlude: Show me your scars I'll show you mine too a comparison of worlds you thought only you knew sit with me and listen as they speak what does your gut feel? are you pouring out to others one after the other? what do you keep for yourself, are you creating your own hell? how will you heal the world before healing your own traumas? don't listen to me speak. do listen to the way you react. Listen to the water, to the trees, to the skin on your back.

The ground is wet. I can feel my sweat. Stretch neck to chest, pounding and pressed Each heart beat louder than the next And I’m stressed. It’s a test, so I press One bare foot into the ground In search of soot I haven’t found Hoping to meet grass and soil, Something naturally royal, Only to find ice & oil. But that’s the price of the spoil Eating rice before it boiled Bet it seemed nice ‘fore it soiled What ya kids dreamed , right ? You was busy with fright We get it it’s aight Wanna respect who gave us life But now it’s us who gotta fight For what you had in right plain sight. Think I won’t start shit, bitch I might. Think I’m an artist who ain’t your type but bet, I still bleed stars and stripe, I’m a A mix breed walk of life Couldn’t miss me if you tried Time to listen, drop the pride Something ’s missing, something’s died Hunting, fishing, sucking dry Can’t seem to resist it, I still try Tryna exist without these lies Some reason I was made with these wide eyes And I go by they, gender aside I say what I say, tender inside Some days go to waste, never outside Render it fried better luck next time Part of the climb It’s in the chart, it’s in the sign If it ain’t in my heart, it aint on my mind Wanna make the art that I’m inclined So I try three times, till I’m declined And then I swipe it and it’s mine.

Intended for the gold Defended by the bold It ended in the cold Shoulda amended what you sold, now you Overextended Where’s that garden that you tended? Cemented? Where’s that pardon you was begging? Contended? Where's that money you been spending? Suspended? Where’s that carbon you depended? Projected to infect the lungs of many Not just any But the folks who count their pennies We entering the 20s You festering an enemy My empathy is gone Go head right your wrongs Cause uh I am a mother. I am an earth Imma be sure you know your worth Find a cure or this gon' hurt Death is a part of birth Get your heart to work Gotta restart your earnings Hear me, I’m overt Imma be curt Fear me time to skirt Betta act smart I’m learning Cheer me like ya flirting Get your hands to dirt Oye! (Cause I'm a fungal one from none to sun) Free time Senses off Just me & my Train of thought Don’t need to be running Don’t need to be stunting Don’t need to be fronting What’s right and what wasn’t I’m bound to be something Right now is a moment of proud Of the clothes I’m in Feeling my golden skin Ceiling to sky To the depths of the ocean, swim Laps with devotion, been Texting and flexing my raps not to hold it in And that’s just the mode I’m in I really didn’t know it when I nearly lost my flow to gin My resources spreading thin The bad forces always winnin, always winnin But that was something different Tryna make a living learning What it means to earn it Humor me humble Bloomer from the crumble If I’m left to grow I’ll this struggle to a jungle Fungal one, from none to sun Eternal young among Us all Unsung If you fall I’ll come Learning things the hard way Cause I’m going somewhere new I said 'ahem I beg your pardon? what the fuck I’m 'posed to do?' Stay inside all day n night Pretend my grind can’t be my light Cause it don’t pay the same to fight and It don’t pay the same to write YAH Gotta figure yourself out younger now That’s just the time Makes you wonder about, say, Exposure at age 9 the kind you can find online At the same time tryna align The type that will stay behind So no need to pay no mind remembering The hype will take the mind from anything Like a fruit before it’s ripe You don't know what they’ll bring Till the timing is priming They gon' keep trying and climbing But when the limelight stay shining Ain’t no shade by design I said when the limelight stay shining Ain’t no shade by design (it just don’t pay the same to write) Humor me humble Bloomer from the crumble If I’m left to grow I’ll this struggle to a jungle Fungal one, from none to sun Eternal young among Us all Unsung If you fall I’ll come I wanna be humble One more time Humor me humble Bloomer from the crumble (I'm bound to be something) If I’m left to grow I’ll this struggle to a jungle (I'll turn this struggle to a jungle) Fungal one, from none to sun Eternal young among Us all, unsung If you fall I’ll come Humor me humble Bloomer from the crumble If I’m left to grow I’ll this struggle to a jungle Fungal one, from none to sun (You don’t know what you’re doing there) Eternal young among Us all, unsung If you fall I’ll come I’m goin all in now I said I’m goin all in now Call me a fungal one Cause I am none to sun None to sun, none to Call me a fungal one, fungal Cause I am none to sun Cause I am none to sun, yeah I grow none to some None to sun One to bunch This affects us all, c’mon This affects us all, c’mon This affects us, all Affects us, all Affects us, all Said it affects us all It affects us all It affects us All

This world is a tough one Stop and think about why we hustling Cause for the climate yeah it’s urgent But for designer merch I’m certain it can wait I got a date with the choir, gonna inquire about fate Silverplate hit the tile Now we hate to see it straight Wildfire in our state Every summer at this rate Every action make or break I’m just a fraction of the cake An abstraction of my ache Taking action for my sake And for my people gone & great Set it straight C'mon Somebody please let their fear known Cause I don’t wanna persevere alone, no Somebody please let their fear known Cause I don’t wanna persevere alone Carried into this life, I don’t getta do that too often My mama yeah she tough But she still find the time to soften For me. Lost in the sea Accompanied By my roots that run deep Like the ancestors I meet in my sleep We steep tea together See whatever he or she I’m meant to be Establish my identity Find clarity. Primarily mentally Familiarity in past lives Surpass fast highs, so I Revive my drive So I can thrive by 25 So I write (write) So I rhyme (rhyme) With all my might I take what’s mine Knowing my rights (rights) Owning my time (time) Most nights I’m Close to heights that Entwine with the sky Insights as to why I try Flowing veins, fine wine Somebody please let their fear known Cause I don’t wanna persevere alone, no Somebody please let their fear known Cause I don’t wanna persevere alone It doesn’t take much transparency to see the ugly But it takes a whole lotta blood to make it opaque My mistake was staying up late Doing some command for a demand that’s grounded in hate I can relate To those who know the path that was chosen for them Isn’t for them Brown kids lost in a dominant culture that isn’t their friends No representation Feels like elimination Erasure from this nation When they the ones Calling the shots that make or break 'em, take 'em Somebody please let their fear known Cause I don’t wanna persevere alone, no Somebody please let their fear known Cause I don’t wanna persevere alone (X2)

DEKAY. 03:13
Body decaying every truth I don’t speak Gotta stay playin to every tune I meet Wanna keep us swaying with the beat With the beat With the beat (listen) Relativity is empathy Scale can’t hide identity Take it one step back or closer see a different density Of ways to be, no same praise to speak No same pays to meet, no same ground to keep No same laying beneath New paved streets Body decaying every truth I don’t speak Gotta stay playin to every tune I meet Wanna keep us swaying with the beat beat Displaying my unique This my favorite time to be Body decaying every truth I don’t speak Gotta stay playin to every tune I meet Wanna keep us swaying with the beat With the beat With the beat (Again) Displaying my unique This my favorite time to be This gon’ be my kind of week Taking time to outshine me Bury me a Cedar tree I come back when I’m needed I come from where I’m meant to be A seedling to be greeted. You ain’t ever gonna hear me say I wish I was born in a different age Cause I am not that torn about the better days. I think we going places I think we owe it patience I say we run the plays That help us raise Our own creations Body decaying every truth I don’t speak Gotta stay playin to every tune I meet Wanna keep us swaying with the beat With the beat With the beat HORNS

about

Environmental Studies is a rap/neo-soul album that can be bumped in your kitchen while cooking, in your car on a night out with friends, alone in your room while you unwind, or even at your local climate change rally. My content comes from a deep connection with both music and the environment. On the album, you will hear me play saxophone, sing, and rap. Having started out in spoken word, my raps are very rhythmic and carry meaning. I hope you download! What I mostly want out of this project is for as many people to hear and connect with my message that caring for our environment can, in itself, be a healing process.
